MBA Study Trip

МВА Study Trip 2012 - Singapore & BangkokGraduation 2010

Each year, our MBA students go on a study trip to some interesting countries. This year they visited Singapore and Thailand.

The business program in Singapore featured meetings with local business representatives and entrepreneurs. The focus was on the peculiarities of the Singaporean social and economic model of development and the way that business is done in the region. In Bangkok, the emphasis was on entrepreneurship in Asia's developing countries, such as Thailand.

In addition to the academic program, the students enjoyed the beauty of these two countries.
The sightseeing program in Singapore included a visit to Sentosa Island. In Bangkok, the students visited Wat Phra Kaew (the temple of the Emerald buddha), the king's palace, Wat Po (the Temple of the Great Golden Buddha), and Wat Benjamabophit (the Marble Temple). They took James Bond's boat on the river, went to the Floating Market, and rode elephants in the jungle.

IUC Management Review (IUMR) is a free-access, English language, online academic journal. This makes it visible to anybody in the world. The journal's most important characteristic is that it emphasizes field research even though it accepts secondary data analyses and theoretical treaties as well. We accept short versions of excellent student dissertations. The first issue features three such articles by MBA graduates, two of whom had previously graduated from the University of Portsmouth program.

The editorial board includes many well-known names from Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Russia, Germany, Slovenia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and more.

The first issue consists of five articles, outlining the main domains that IUCMR will address.

Bulgaria - Dream Area

Bulgaria is a member of the European Union and NATO. This information is enough to form a general idea of the country and what can be expected in it, but it does not say anything about its rich history and culture, the beauty of its nature, or the quality of life that students can enjoy during their years of study. Lilia Hristova , BA (Hons) IFT, Class 2008

I wanted to work at a bank or a financial department of a large company. I was nervous although I had worked for a polling agency and knew what an interview could be like. But this time it was different. It was the first time I had applied for a job in my field: international finance and trade. I submitted my CV and letter of motivation; surprisingly, I was also asked to deliver a coursework project. As I did not have much of a choice, I provided a copy of my final project. I was sure that my CV and letter of motivation were good. We started studying such things already in Foundation Year and I knew how to present myself so that I make the shortlist. And I did.   More...
